Outdoor kitchens

With summer now in full swing, it’s time to start thinking about outdoor kitchens. What could be better than harvesting your veggies fresh from the garden, washing/prepping them and throwing them right on the grill?!?!

So what are the most important features in an outdoor kitchen? The most obvious, of course, is the grill. We love Viking’s new built-in outdoor grills http://www.vikingrange.com/consumer/products/category_subcategory.jsp?id=cat12360063 you can opt for the stand alone grill (T-series) or you can create a whole built-in set-up complete w/stainless steel cabinets, undercounter refrigeration, etc… (E-series).  Not only can you grill on these badboys, but you can throw a whole chicken on the rotisserie, you can add wood chips and smoke a piece of fish, you can use the TruSear plates to grill your veggies in no time… and the icing on the cake is that clean up is simple. Really!

Next off, you’ll need a water source. Whether you just hook up a Smith & Hawken portable sink to your hose or you have water/waste lines available so that you can have a full functioning sink, a water source is imperative.

And don’t forget to give yourself adequate prep space. We suggest choosing granite for your countertop material, as it is the hardest of the stones, so it will stand up to the weather.
